  • A beautiful day.

On such a day, I'm always bemused to see people ensnared in a some form of rapture by their portable electronic devices.

    So many there are.

Cocooned in ear buds and fixed on those little screens.

Snared, wrapped in its embrace, seemingly aware of little else.

I can't say it doesn't call to me too, for it does. I wouldn't be here otherwise.

But on such a beautiful day?
  • No.
  • My own view wandered into a bush and met a gaze looking right back at me.

We looked steadily at each other for a few minutes before my observer hopped away.

Somehow, I felt this short encounter communicated more reality than anything I had been looking at before.

Looking at this screen right now seems a poor substitute.

    But it will do.
