  • This discreetly placed marble slab in the ancient city of Ephesus, Turkey is believed to be the first advertisement of the modern world.

It was an Ad for what was, the City Brothel.

If you're foot was larger than the foot on the slab, you were eligible to enter.
The foot points to the direction of the brothel. On it's right is a drawing of a woman to represent the beauty that lay within.
And the heart on the top left is for the loving that you'd get if you walked in!

    Simple and effective.
    Just how advertising should be.
