  • I volunteer for a direct action environmental organization based in New York City called Time's Up! The Rockaways were inaccessible by car and train so we brought bikes with trailers from Occupy Sandy's hub in Brooklyn where we loaded them with supplies and biked out to the Rockaways. People were so thankful. They cheered us on! We believe the increase in storms has to do with pollution. We wanted to show people what they could do to prevent more storms. We were able to help and be part of the solution.
A rally was held lat er on t o let people know t he media had stopped covering them and they were still hurting. They did not want to be forgotten!
