  • My mom is the definition of thoughtful.

She hunts for new, creative, and delicious vegan recipes to cook for me when I come home, while simultaneously creating a low-carb feast for my dad, and baking tasty 'normal' treats for my sister (Jess) and her boyfriend (Dan).

She frequently sends me cards, notes, emails, texts...just so I always know that I am loved.

She individually wrapped 31 pieces of candy for me and sent them, along with a paper advent calendar, to arrive at the beginning of December. They don't make vegan advent calendars, so she made one herself.

She has a list of birthdays written out for each month and she buys a specific, personalized card, for everyone on that list. It may arrive late, but it arrives packed with love and thought.

She loves smiley faces, warm cookies, learning new things, teaching others, small gifts, buying things on sale, singing in the car, reading on the porch, and spending time with the people she loves.

I have so much to learn from her.
