  • My Grandfather just celebrated his 90th birthday, with the whole family (except me, as always) in the nursing home that is now his home.
There is really no way to know whether or not he is fully realizing that his wife of close to 70 years has left us just before Christmas...
My Pepe has been living in his own world for a while now, and it is very difficult to know how and what he feels...
I'd like to believe that he is choosing to live in a world of chosen memories...
A world where his young bride is still full of joyful life, where all four of his kids are running around in everlasting happiness, and where he gets to enjoy all of his grandchildren and show them the world like only he knew how to do it.
Who can really blame him for not wanting to come back to a world so full of pain and sadeness...
He has lived his life, and he has lived it very well... Maybe he has deserved to finish it in a world full of only beautiful memories...
