  • OUT IN Rootstown, Ohio, on a little farm between Fantasy and Euphoria, sits the Pump Organ Pub, S. Smith, Proprietor. It's a welcoming place, where Lottie and the other rescued racing greyhounds and their human hosts thumb their collective noses at Old Man Winter when he sends the snows roaring down off Lake Erie to challenge their slim -- ha! -- grip on survival.

The hens are roosting in the barn. The roosters are staging their little mock-cockfights in the rooster pens. With all those fresh eggs, we'll never go hungry.

Daylight's lasting a bit longer each day. We'll see the end of this yet.

In the meantime, Bo's just taking it all in stride.
