  • The Icelandic midwinter festival of Þorri started yesterday. During the month of Þorri Icelanders enjoy a selection of traditional Icelandic food, cured in a traditional manner.

    The selection cators to different tastes and on offer is putrified shark, testicles of rams pressed in blocks,boiled and cured in lactic acid,boiled sheep heads,seal flippers, sour whale blubber and a wide variety of traditional Icelandic dishes.

    My father is visiting and helping me with some construction work so we opted for take away food,the choice of food couldn'thave been more different.
