We are sitting in the middle of George Street in Haymarket, Sydney. This is one of the busiest intersections in the city. On the next block the Twilight Parade for Chinese New Year is snaking its way through the streets. We left the parade to find somewhere to play board games. Standing in the middle of the blocked-off road, we said: this is the place, and sat down to play Bananagram.
In a city built for cars and commerce, occupying this patch of asphalt seems audacious. People take our photo and I wonder how many blogs and Facebook posts we will appear on. If you put your cameras away and brought your board games we could take this whole street.
