The engine in our 1989 Volkswagen Westfalia blew up in Eastern Washington before we got to choose our city.

The idea was to drive up and down the west coast to see the places people live and then choose one to stay in for awhile. We loved driving. But before we saw our first city the engine was dead. There was no money left to fix it and keep looking. So the looking ended. And we came to live in the city of Seattle.
