When the kids were babies I was sometimes stir crazy and sometimes really bored and even, at times, felt sub-human. Like a milking cow on a midnight shift. It's such an onslaught of being constantly touched and pawed at and people saying your name - "Mom. Mom. Maaawwwhhhmmm."
I knew enough to memorize their scent and the feel of the skin and what their little toes felt like when they rested against me.
