  • Yesterday was the perfect day.

I was visiting my sister in LA on free standby tickets from my work. She goes to USC, so the previous day had been nostalgic with a campus tour, walk down greek row and going to a campus bar.

The next day, we went to Santa Monica and while we were at lunch, my sister found out she got into grad school at the school I went to for undergrad. That afternoon, I caught my return flight and flew home.

This weekend was my last chance for time off in the next couple months. I'm going to have to work weekends for the next month or two to complete a project. Also, I owe taxes which I can't really afford to pay so I was ready for a weekend to forget my problems.

Every once in a while, a little thing happens and you realize that in that moment, you are happy. A feeling you haven't had for months.

I'm sure this doesn't sound like your perfect day or your perfect weekend. But it was for me at a time when I really needed something to go my direction.

To my sister - thanks for the perfect weekend.
