  • this is how it always happens.

i find myself suddenly at 2:30 in the afternoon

    i haven't washed my face.

    i haven't brushed my teeth.

i have had a half a cup of coffee
but have left it somewhere in the house.

i am wearing last night's dress but have put a hoodie over it because at some part of the day the house got too cold and i was too lazy to do anything about it.

    i have started a project.

you are about to come home from work and ask me

what have i done with my day.

    i have no idea.

i don't know where time goes, i find it suddenly disappearing.
with nothing to really show for it.

and deadlines that i always just seem to barely make for work.

despite all the nothing that i seem to do.

so i brush my teeth and wash my face moments before you come home.
    hoping that maybe, this time
    you won't notice.
