  • I seem to go through life feeling numb about the present and hyper-reflective about the past. I have this innate ability to push forward on adrenaline—completely experiential—never feeling the pangs of my current obstacles. This makes me an optimist, so I survive. No, I thrive. 'This' moment does not occupy my mind, instead I am constantly feeling the effects of what has already happened. Like the tremors of an earthquake from three years ago, those experiences resonate with me stronger then they ever had before. I am physically forced to move through time, but my emotions are stunted, processing life at a dial-up pace, and this has been my greatest asset.
