  • I was at the shelter the day I went into labor. At nine months pregnant I still couldn't stay away from the animal shelter I work at. I use the word "work" very loosely as I don't consider this work, it's just my life. I love being surrounded by rowdy, ill mannered, mangy mutts. I see the possibility in all these dogs and I guess that's why I consider every dog that comes into the shelter an amazing creature.

It's been 10 weeks since I've had my wonderful Alexandra. She keeps me up at night and I have to say caring for 50 shelter dogs is a lot easier than one new born baby.

I started back at work last week part time and I couldn't be happier to be surrounded by my crazy mutts again.

This picture was taken my second day back at work. This dog's name is Utley, he was surrendered by his owner. My wonderful co-worker is giving him some much needed love. Another great dog dumped at the shelter. Back to work I go!
