  • When the family is gathered and chat inevitably turns to when and if we will have kids
    My imagination soars wild.
The names, the ceremonies, the footballing talent possibly inherited from your brother and uncle?

Inside I beam like the brightest sun
    My heart leaps 300 feet
Unimaginable joy like the first man on the moon.

And then, almost immediately, you do or say something that floats me back to Earth...
The real picture lands at my feet and whilst the truth takes root
A sigh of relief permeates my baby addled brain.
    It would be Horrible.
    You would not be supportive.
And thankfully you remind me of that everyday.
