  • The man in the picture is the man for whom I worked at Fresno High School for 16 of the 21 years I taught there. Bob Reyes was an outstanding principal, and these are the words of thanks I wrote today on Facebook to him. If you know a teacher and/or a principal, write them a thank you note, while there is still time.

‎Bob Reyes, as we sit, stunned, watching the news of the Sandy Hook massacre, I am reminded, listening to stories about the principal, of what a good principal you were for Fresno High. Not an easy job, but one you embraced wholeheartedly. You fought for the students and the staff. You fought for the buildings and the facilities. You stood up to bullies, and you showed love and care to all those around you. As tributes are paid to Dawn Hochsprung, as they well should be as she was a true hero who saved lives, I want to take a moment to say thanks to my principal hero-Bob Reyes. We should not wait until the person is gone to tell them how much they meant, how hard they worked, and how much their heroism is appreciated. Thank you.
