  • The darkness seems to press in from all around. The days keep growing shorter, and even when it's supposed to be light, it really isn't. Overcast. Gray. Dreary.
  • Over the past 2 weekends, I have forced myself to keep at the effort of bringing a little light to my little corner of the world. This afternoon, during a light drizzle, I put the finishing touches on the 2012 edition of the Griswold, uh, I mean, Bridgeman Family Christmas light display.
  • J.B. wasn't here to help this year, but I finally followed a piece of advice he's been telling me for the past several years. I've dispense with using indoor only extension cords. I invested in several additional outdoor cords to replace the ones I've previously used. Amazingly, this has resulted in only 2 tripped fuses! (Usually, by now there's been at least 10).
  • Now, we can just sit back and enjoy the sounds of cars slowing down to have a look. Kathy always gets a sly little smile on her face when she hears one.
  • Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukkah, Happy Diwali - whatever celebration of light you enjoy celebrating at this time of year, I wish each and every one a most joyous celebration, this day and every day of the year. Let there be light!
