  • Thinking about the time my dad's cancer had began to metastasize and he had to get an MRI. I was sitting in the room with him, waiting for the Doctor to come in and talk to us about the results and he looked a little funny, so I said "Daddy, are you okay" and he said "my head is still ringing from that machine" and I asked "what machine", just wanting to see if he remembered he had just had an MRI and he said "that Pink Floyd machine" ~ lol. A few years later, I had an MRI and he was right, sounded just like that "Pink Floyd machine". But then, the Doctor came in and told us that he was nearing the end, so he looked over at me and said "call my Doctor at the VA hospital when I die and tell her that the lunatic is in the ground and I'll see her on the dark side of the moon". I went home, gathered up all of my Pink Floyd CD's, found my walkman and brought it all to the hospital. Daddy was in and out of consciousness, brain damaged by the cancer and the morphine, all the while on a Pink Floyd ride to the Dark Side of the moon.
