  • Napoli is known as the place where pizza was conceived. I though I'd had the best pizza of my life back home, in Colombia, long time ago. How wrong I was.

The first day I touched Napoli ground was with the Norwegian Epic, back in June 2011. Everyone kept on telling me how amazing pizza was on that place, with that being said I walked to one of the most popular places to eat such delicacy: L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele. Yeah, the one where Eat Pray Love was filmed. That day we got early so we didn't have to wait much in the line to get a table inside to eat properly.

At first sight is nothing special, the real experience starts when you smell the freshness of the ingredients and you get hypnotized by it. Then comes the first bite... Heaven. I cannot describe how wonderful was to feel and taste the mixture of the mozarella, tomato and olive oil... everything was perfect. And yes, everyone who goes there end up in a "relationship with their pizza" because you get so committed on eating it that it feels like a sin when you feel like leaving half of it on the plate by being so full. Don't leave it. Taste it, eat it to the very last piece.

I had the chance to keep on going, almost every thursday to that magical place. A place to let your senses go and feel, for a little while, the pleasure of eating one of the most simple but wonderful foods in the place where it was created.

(nnedless to say that the pizza we eat in the US and South America is NOT pizza at all...)
