  • A mother of four boys disappears in 1981 on a Saturday morning in August.

Search parties set out to look for her for five days. Her body is found, seven days later by a neighbor and the deceased mothers’ oldest son. Her body lay decomposing in a peaceful state, arms folded over her heart, as if in prayer, lying perfectly straight on a rock-ledge 300 yards from the families’ rural Missouri home.

Context of Audio – My father recorded his phone conversations with friends and family. This recording is between my father and a friend both who have wifes wanting a divorce. My mother was going back to school for art and fell in love with another man an artist. Her kids where teenagers by then and she was following her heart and bliss.
    The recording speaks for itself.

My mother lived in rural Southwestern Missouri in the early 1960’s thru 1980’s. She was a highly creative, active woman with a degree in nursing, working as an ex-ray technician while going to night school to earn her Masters Degree in art. She earned numerous x-ray photo awards during her career as a nurse.

Art was her true passion in life, which she pursued tirelessly and like all great lovers of art, stole time in her devotion to this love whenever she could. With four children and a full-time career, she managed to produce a prolific amount of work, exploring every medium, be it oil paint, airbrush, photography, pottery or silver-work, with an unbounded enthusiasm to express her creativity. Later she exhibited her work with local galleries who sponsored art showings featuring her work. During a period of time when she was attending art school she had a love affair with a fellow art student or teacher. (unknown person who are you?) At this time she wanted to divorce her husband. Months and years following she suddenly started being diganosed with Bi-polar and paranoid schizophrenia and was admitted to a state hospital on several occasions

Her husband, my father was a man who as a child, was abandoned by his father and in so doing, left him, the eldest, with the responsibility of caring for his mother and two younger brothers. As a traveling salesman, his work took him from the home, leaving her and their family for days at-a-time. He was a very simple, ordinary man, with little interest in the arts or culture, seemingly content with a middle-class rural life of Missouri. His dreams seem to extend only as far as knowing his wife was home, caring for his children and putting food on the table.

The time-period was the mid 60’s when American culture was experiencing a radical upheaval and outcry with the Vietnam War as a catalyst demanding change and the right to speech, with “love not war” being the mantra of youth around the country. Beat-poets like Bukowski, Allen Ginsberg and the music of troubadour poets such as, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, gave voice of the underground artist and counter culture of the day, as the truth for the times. While anti-war sentiments raged in the streets of San Francisco and across campuses like Kent State, in Southern Missouri, a house wife and passionate artist with four young boys to raise and a middle-class, simple-minded husband, threatened by such radical tastes and interests, fought to find her voice, but in the end, submerged it, she had no way out. Its uncertain if she killed herself.

In honor of my mother - Jean Weaver

Undetermined death registered as “POSSIBLE SUICIDE” “POSSIBLE OVERDOSAGE”
2005 more than 20years later a documentary filmmaker explores his deeper knowing of what is missing about his life. His inner knowing that she did not have to die and that her death was by the hands and mind of ignorance either directly or indirectly. Such a delicate stance to walk, it will examine it from the perspective of a suicide but the truth will be explored through examination of the truth behind the mystery and that the audience will decide for themselves what to believe. He interviews family members and using extensive research to document the case of Margerurette Jean McQuiston.
Historical photos, 8mm film and current visual video imagery is used to weave a tapestry of a woman’s potential for living an authentic passionate life. He explores his own life as creative artist and seemingly insane life and examines the life of a woman destroyed by ignorance, selfish pride, and attachment by doctors, lawyers and others within the realm of DEVINE FEMININE MADNESS.

Set as a DOCUDRAMA, WHAT IF She Lived. scenario. Jean will be shown in one or two segments throughout the docudrama in her age as a 70year old woman, as a professional artist living in Italy, played by “proposed” actress.” Sigourney Weaver” The intention: to portray her insanity as nothing more than ultimate passion for life, and the untapped potential of every human being whom taps into this divine source. Her freedom from a captivity of a domineering manipulative husband will be explored as this seems to be the latest news every night of husbands whom are afraid and scared of divorce or losing a grip on there control of there life, wife, mates and children and end up murdering or abusing them is a growing crime againsty the feminine passion of life. Simulated parts played by the actress will include “Shock Treatment” a walk down a long hall as her children sit outside awaiting to see her.

The use of a simulated drama will help tell the story of pain, emotion and truth of what it was like to have lived through such an experience, while giving the audience the feeling that possibly heaven is following a life of artistic creative passion.
Marguerette Jean "Weaver" Mcquiston had the potential to be one of the greatest Female Western artists of the 21st century. She was in the prime of her life when she died and had mastered all forms of art and was prolific with her work. Her genius of literature and art and music far surpassed that of her husband as well as most men of her day.

    QUOTE FLASHES ON SCREEN…
"The shaman is the person who has in his late childhood, early youth, could be male or female, had a overwhelming psychological experience, that turns him totally inward. The whole unconscious has opened up and they've fallen into it. And it's been described many, many times. And it occurs all the way from Siberia, right through the Americas, down to Tierra del Fuego. It's a kind of schizophrenic crack-up, the shaman experience." --Joseph Campbell
