  • > I met Mr. Wat via Michael, our Captain on Magic Amadeus, who suggested I stop by his bar aptly called "Mr. Wat's Bar," in Nai Yang beach in Phuket. Michael asked that I say hello for him and his wife, so it was a good excuse to meet someone new. Wat's is a local hang out for them, which Is not surprising since according to their sign, "is a very good bar." According to Mr. Wat, he has owned the place for seven years. He says "it is very simple." It is, but special too. It's right on the beach, actually, it is a big hut on the beach with the sand as floor, a grass roof decorated with flags signed with kind notes to Mr Wat for his hospitality and fun, and tables/bar that look to be made from driftwood. I loved it. Liked Wat too, who itook good care of me and brought me great barbecued chicken - they were having a great big cookout. Felt like family.
