    He summons me to him with a gesture.

    Closer, he indicates.

    Then, with both hands he moulds my face into a smile.

    There, he mimes, hold it like that.

    Fixing his own smile, he instructs his Mummy to open her eyes.

    "See," he says with a wave of his hands, "your wish has come true."
