  • Tonight is the last night of our unplanned, unexpected "hurrication" - J.B.'s term for a vacation extended by the inability to get back home, due to the hurricane/nor'easter that created havoc for travellers this week.

While we made the most of what might otherwise have been a very frustrating situation - spent a few days with J.B., drove down to San Diego to see my sister and a 13 month old grand niece I'd never met - I am so looking forward to finally going home. I was ready a week ago. I really miss my regular life - my dog - my house - even my job!

Hurrication was fun while it lasted, but it's time to get back to the real world. I've never had a vacation that lasted more than 17 days before. Today was day 20. Enough! I'm relaxed! Time to go home.

(Fireworks from Disneyland last night, as seen from the balcony just outside our hotel room).
