  • The London Screenwriters’ Festival takes place in Regents College in the beautiful Regents Park and both inside and outside the grounds are beautiful, even when the days are a little grey and cold.

In the middle of 600 people for three very long days it can feel a bit overwhelming so it's nice to take a bit of a solitary break at a lunchtime or break (if you're not networking) and simply walk along a river or across the well manicured lawns of the parkland.

It seemed however that the pitching sessions happening on one of the upper floor conference rooms of the college had been observed by the birds as firstly I got pitched by a goose for a bit of my scotch egg and then a pigeon sidled up to stand beside me, casually making his elevator pitch for a few of my crisps. Darned if the two of them weren’t successful. Clearly I didn’t have my hardball Producer’s head screwed on so tightly today.

By the time the heron showed up there wasn't much lunch left to share. I told him I'd have my people call his people and left it at that!
