  • When "Brokeback Mountain" came out on DVD, I had heard all the hype about how it was groundbreaking in that it was a big blockbuster movie with big names starring in it, and it was about homosexuality. I decided to push buttons on my best friend and see what he thought about it.

"Hey, are you planning on watching Brokeback Mountain?"

He refused to watch it because it "promoted homosexuality".

    "You are against homosexuality?"

He responded that it is a sin.

"Don't you want to see it, just to see the 'opposition' and their perspective?"

He said that he would never pay money to watch it because it promoted homosexuality. It promotes sin and he would never support the "Hollywood agenda".

"So you won't watch Brokeback Mountain because it promotes homosexuality because it's a sin. Have you ever watched 'Pulp Fiction? That has murder in it. Murder is a sin."

We both knew he had seen "Pulp Fiction:, we probably quoted that movie more than any other movie during our many conversations.

I didn't bother to listen to his answer. I just smiled and tried.....tried.....tried to be humble and not smug, but nobody's perfect, not even me.
