  • I think when the world seems small its because of the serendipitous connections we make. I met these gentlemen on a bus and then ran into them later that same day in the street - a street that was not near where we first met. It was like running into a good friend at home, that instant feeling that you belong and are in the right place. Pedro and Roger are visiting Hong Kong from Venezuela. They came to HK and China for the Canton Festival (I do not know what that is). Home is one of the things that makes them happy. The beaches and the FOOD. We chatted about how the Chinese seriously undervalue a good breakfast (that consists of foods not usually consumed at lunch) and about how eager the boys were to not eat Chinese food.

A sweet reminder that familiar faces, food you love and home- the things we can take for granted- are a good recipe for happy.

That said,I'm adding Venezuela to my list.
