I have stayed silent on this for too long. I appreciate the effort to bring more exotic tastes to the people of the frozen tundra.
I do. Really! And I accept the fact that we all need to improve our diet to exclude fatty foods.

I realize we need less salt in our diet, and personally have switched to a “no-salt” salt at home. Maybe we could add this as an alternative to the endless salt packets at the checkout. Its taste is the same as salt to me.

I’m sure Chef Larry has impressive credentials and we probably stole his services from a fine restaurant. I found his French Market soup, after first turning up my nose at it, very tasty.

But, I am having a hard time with the other soups on the menu. The Chicken Noodle soup has some type of spice added to it that brings on the same reaction I have when I taste curry. Bleuwak!! And I like Chicken Noodle soup! It was the one staple that I thought I could depend on no matter what other changes were made.

The other soups fall in to one of two categories: Too bland or too spicy. The Split Pea soup is always too peppery (and what’s the deal with all the carrots?).
I am beginning to be able to digest the Chipotle Chili, but it was a difficult dish to cultivate. This is cheese country and hot spices are rare.
I like the Turkey Chili and have grown accustomed to the Wisconsin Chili, although real chili has no use for noodles! Ask anyone who doesn’t live in Wisconsin.

The Salad Bar is well done with just the perfect balance between the salads and the vegetables. The sides of fresh fruit, melons and cottage cheese are great.

I very seldom use the main menu items but have on occasion had the Taco Bar. I can’t put my finger on what’s missing, but when I sit down to eat the taco salad I have created from the bar, it just doesn’t taste right. Somehow, it’s always too dry. I’ll have to work on that one.

The piece-de-resistance seems to be the waffled sandwich called a Grilled Panini. They come in different combinations of unusual flavors. From the basic Ham and Cheese to the more exotic Basil and whatnots, I’ve tried them all and they are very tasty.

Overall a passable grade, but can you do something about the soups?
