  • John and Molly were married for over 20 years. He died recently. She is in mourning, picking up the pieces, getting on with rebuilding her life.

Yesterday was his memorial service in the House of Blues on Sunset. Among his countless creative adventures, he was also a musician. Their friends and colleagues shared memories about him alone, and them as a couple together.

Tears and laughter kept coming in waves. John had a rich and complex life. He was John Wright, a good man who always tried to do the right thing for the people around him.

Learning all this cool stuff about him now was bittersweet. He is gone. She lost her Beloved. We all lost a good man.

Looking at their picture, their affection and love for each other is apparent in how they touch. He shelters her. She supports him.

She did - all the way through his end. Molly uprooted her LA life to nurture him through his illness, while he was living out his dream to rebuild his hometown even as his body was deconstructing itself.

He never quit. He just run out of time.

They are ordinary people. Yet they made their life extraordinary, by the love they built together, and the love, affection and respect he left behind.

“It is not the thing that matters but the adventure of pursuing it”.
    John Wright. In Memoriam
