  • I'm not an astronaut, despite all my childhood dreams. I get to do something almost as good, though; get people excited about and invested in space exploration. My favorite moments are encouraging kids that nothing is impossible - and if they want to, and work hard, they can fly in space one day.

    This little guy pushed to the front of the line. He couldn't read yet, but he knew what a spaceman was, and he knew that was something he wanted to see. He was disappointed that neither of us had flown in space, but trying on a real spacesuit glove quickly made up for that.

    It fits me! he exclaimed, like Cinderella trying on the glass slipper. I really CAN be a spaceman.
