  • This old warrior helped me return to the land of the living back in 2005 and we've been family every since. I love him like i love few others and i remember him seeing something good in me when i couldn't. I just can't forget things like that. I closed my recent trip through the south out with him in the middle of the night last night. He is in a rehab center for a few days healing up from another hip replacement. That coupled with damage done in his old life is taking it's toll but he's still tough as nails. Tough but soft in the right places. We hung out for a while out on the patio under a bunch of stars. By this time he and i know one another, our stories and those things that have made each others lives what they are. We revisited some of that and talked about what's to come. I almost asked him if he had anything he wanted to ask of me or tell me but i know it isn't time for that just yet. We've still got some reckoning to do.
