  • Something happened last night that was truly eerie. I hadn’t been drinking or smoking any funny leaves. I was lounging on my living room couch watching a movie, I heard a conversation clear as could be, not from the TV, but amplified louder than a normal conversation within the room. I heard the front door shut and a woman and a man enter laughing. She said, “I’m not ready yet, but maybe within the week”. He said, “I can help with gathering together the odds and ends but when it comes to the main portion, you’ll have to do that”. She laughs, “of course. Sherry said she would help out in that regard, in any event. Look at you, who would have ever thought”. More laughter.

They knock something in the room and their voices drift off. Leaving me sitting ramrod straight up. Eyes searching doors, windows and ceiling. All doors were closed, all windows were closed. I backed up the dvd to see if it was in the audio of the movie I had been watching. It wasn’t. I then thought that maybe I’m becoming a schizophrenic and these voices were popping out of my head. Nothing was toppled in the room.

I don’t know why I was so unnerved by this, maybe it was just the neighbors voices carrying in the night air. They could have been entering their door about fifty feet away but the sound would have been muffled by the walls. Theories of another dimension or a future time warp came to mind and then finally I thought of Cosmo Topper with George and Mariane, the Ghosts. Was I a modern day Cosmo Topper? They seemed friendly enough. So I turned on the TV, finished the movie and went to bed.
