  • The news came the same afternoon I had walked my dog in the woods surrounding Oslo, the capital of Norway: 1/3 of my fellow citizens want to pack their bags and move to the countryside. Leave the complexity, leave the complex city.

I am not one of those. Neither is my dog, nor my husband or children. The latter are fifth generation Oslo lovers. OsLove. We love the city lights at night, the sounds from the backyard, the four legged friends in the park, the trickeling in the bathroom tubes when the neighbour above takes a shower, the 10 minute walk from home to down-town Oslo.

And despite the 1/3 longing for simpler life; within 25 years the population of Oslo will grow by 50 %. They are welcome. My city has many neighbourhoods.
