  • I am a techno-utopian. This is a belief that says technology will bring about a better world in the future. This should not be construed as diminishing the power of the human element, and the human perspective. It simply sees technology as a primary enabling force to a better world.

One of those transformative technologies is the Space Elevator. To build a Space Elevator, we need to master several advanced technologies, including carbon nanotube ribbon production and wireless power transmission via lasers. The Space Elevator would reduce the cost of moving freight into space by orders of magnitude. Such technology would enable solar power from space, the capture of meteors to mine precious and rare materials, and the colonization of the moon and beyond. It could create industries we can't even imagine yet.

The Space Elevator could be built in a decade, with the proper level of funding.
  • Space travel captures the imagination.
  • The Space Elevator is possible and attainable. Teams are working on all of these technologies, and competitions are being led to spur innovation. It's an exciting time to be alive!
