  • I'm pretty sure I will never die. But before I was pretty sure about this, I was careful about things like bacon, cotton candy, and tobacco. Then I read a factoid about some actuarial finding that taking up smoking after age 40 can't catch up with you before other stuff will. Still, I hedged and took up pipe smoking. So these days I'll smoke every couple of months for kicks. And effect. And affect.

    Now that I'm pretty sure I won't die, I could go with deep-lung drags on unfiltered Gauloises. But I have this pipe now and there are all these pipe tobaccos that taste like bacon and cotton candy.
