  • 1rst Movement: Nervous Adagio

    Black and white
    Cold and alone
    I sleep the first night
    Like always

    Dark, strange
    An alien city
    I don't belong
    I can't be here

    Long hours
    Long blocks
    Honking Pakistanis
    Spanglish spoken everywhere
    Did I brush my teeth?
    Is this the right corner?

    Not made for anxious lovers
    No place to sit
    No respite from the crowd
    Please call
    Thank God...

    How many Hudson News?
    Which Duncan Donuts?
    Is this a joke?
    Sunlight and more chaos
    Your voice my homing beacon

    There you are
    Slender, elegant, smiling
    Will she like me?
Do I look like my picture?
If I just kiss her, am I a jerk?
    Street steam

    Your lips are so soft
    They fit my mouth
    Your tongue flits, touches mine
    I pull you close
    You press against me
I want to stop the world
Just stare at you for a while

    You hold my hand

2nd Movement: Released Passion Allegro Moderato

Hot in the sun, wool is not my friend
    Sweaty palm
    You look cool, collected, tired
Sweat drips down and you see
    I wipe
    Wipe some more
    Wipe more

    Thanksgiving dinner in a wrap
    Cool air conditioned luxury
    Watching the cityscape
The smell of pastries and bread
    Your eyes
I can't stop looking at you
Will you shrug? Are you freaked?

    Ubiquitous beans
    Delicious cool
    Cold headache and damp palms
I kiss you over and over
    I'm addicted to your scent
    To your feel
I want to fall into your eyes

    West 45th
    A heavy door
    A dark interior
    Self conscious wonderings
Will you think I'm a perv?
Other women's breasts adorn the walls
    Smiles from the desk
    The up button sticks
    The elevator takes forever

    Room 36
    So small
    So not like I wanted
    A palace
    An empire
    An oasis

    You make yourself at home
    You make me at ease
    You smile
    Look in corners
    Lift things
    Open doors
I love you so much it hurts

    You're tired
I see it in your face
    I want you to rest
    I want you to sleep
    You lie back
Your head nearly in my lap
    I kiss you
    Time stops

    Shiftings and movement
    Strings play
    Woodwinds accent
    Your lips make me whole
I feel you in my nose
    In my palms
    In my sex
    One shoe falls off

    My hand brushes down you
    You gasp
    I caress you
    You caress me
    Time stops

    3rd Movement: Wonder Scherzo

    My other shoes falls off
    Your lips on me
    My neck
    I lose myself
    I explode into you
    Give you everything in me

    My tongue runs across you
    Your taste like champagne and
Your scent like the ocean breeze
    I drink of you
    Become inebriated on you
    Plunge into you
    Die over and over

    Sweat cools
    Your eyes flick open
    I lose myself

    Your mouth on me
    My lover
    My goddess
    My woman
    My friend
    I explode and wonder how

Crack addiction is no longer theoretical

4th Movement: Night Light Allegro Molto

    Sheets soaked with us
The sounds of moans, gasps and sighs echo
    I no longer exist alone
The room is lit from within
    You shine through your skin
    Sweet sweat
I taste you through my hands

Inside you I find paradise, Shangri La
Your voice is my serum, my wine
Your hands, my balm, my ecstasy
Your eyes, a whirlpool sucking me in
    I shudder at your touch
    I shudder at your ministrations
I shudder dying small deaths in you
I shudder at the thought of losing you

    You smile at me
    Whisper in my ear
Tell me if I don't you will
    So I do
    The old world ends
    The film strip burns
The tape falls to the floor

    It begins anew.
