  • A few days ago, I had a dream about a bear. In my dream, the bear was not chasing me but it had surprised me and I was frightened. Although I was scared, I remember thinking how beautiful the bear was, the sun was shining and the world seemed bright and friendly. The bear seemed unconcerned with my presence, just lumbering through my dream, but I did my best to put distance between us. The dream was powerful enough to have me thinking about it for several days and so this morning I looked up the meaning on various dream sites.

This is what I found. Dreams: When bear medicine enters your dream it is a very powerful symbol and message. Seeing the bear symbolizes independence, rebirth, and the cycles of life. Bear is trying to awaken your inner power and lead you to a period of meditation and thinking.

I am independent -sometimes to a fault. My birthday is coming -might explain the reference to life cycles. In addition, a friend of my mother's recently passed away -very unexpected. She wasn't sick. Bears are good mothers and can symbolize motherhood in a dream.

I am introspective by nature, particularly so in cold weather -hibernation anyone? One more thing, my inner power may have awakened. Watch out folks! It could get interesting around here...
