  • To those of you not living in a conflicted zone ,if you have any strength left,I urge you to read this with a look to all the myths, agendas, propaganda and historical, and cultural knowable truths on both sides.

Not too long ago ,I was watching my child's graduation show from High School. It was wonderfully done, very professional ,a talented bunch as any of her generation.

I was trying my best to enjoy the show but the tears kept coming, all I could see on the stage was death. All I could think of was how many of these kids, boy and girl alike would be here next year after they entered the fray of this disasterous conflict.

Parents raising children in the midst of conflict don't have that wonderous simple joy knowable only to those living in more creative societies.

Just as soon as conception is realized the dark cloud comes and worrying and fear erase the joy. We don't count the fingers and toes,we don't smell that unearthly newborn fresh from the womb smell . We smell the stink of fear. We smell the stink of death, not knowing whether the child we raise to care will be sucked of his creativity to help solve,or will go blindly to his death, head full of patriotic propaganda.

Guilt is our constant companion, trying to get thru by repression, the enevitable knowing the forces brainwashing your offspring are greater than your love can overcome.A child conceived in a conflict zone must be one well thought out and planned for, will they add or will they subtract.Do we as parents have the strength and care for the world to go against the tide and bring isolation and ridicule on ourselves and children,or do we turn them loose to set yet more evil upon the world? The cloud grows darker and heavier but life giving rain falls in drops too tiny to make anything grow.
