  • We have all probably heard the saying ‘Life is a roller-coaster’ before. Full of ups and downs and unexpected turns. It is this which gives life its colors and textures. This is what makes life worth living. The emotions that come with a drop in this roller-coaster fill our hearts with new and scary feelings. And no matter how scary it feels, this is when we feel truly alive. Completely at the mercy of Life’s mysterious ways.

We naturally crave for stability. For things to just stay as they are. For our home to be our home forever. For our families to be by our sides forever. For our true Love to never leave. But all of a sudden, when we start to relax in this stable environment we’ve worked so hard to achieve, a drop suddenly reveals itself and the fall is inevitable. This is when we start to let go of the things that are not true to our hearts, that do not serve us in our journey through life. The possessions we’ve worked so hard to acquire in order to give us the feeling of comfort and permanence. All these things are suddenly put at the very bottom of our priority list once we are faced with one of life’s unexpected drops. When it is too late to fear. When it is too late to cling onto anything. Then, all we are left with is Love.

Love is what brings us back on our feet. It is the sole motivator of new beginnings. Love is what reminds us of the things in life that are worth worrying about. Love is what pulls us up slowly after that drop. It is what brings us closer to the people who matter to us. Love is what helps us act compassionately when others are suffering. To say sorry and to forgive. It is what gets us out of bed when nothing else seems to matter anymore.

It seems natural therefore, that Love is what we should be cultivating every day. Love is what will give us the sense of comfort and stability we so crave for. If love is the Tiramisu of life then the stronger our heart is, the faster it will ‘pick us up’ when we fall.

This Love to me is the light of God on Earth. It is how His presence guides us everyday in our journeys. This light that is here in our hearts from beginning to end. It is always here. But we are the ones in charge of how weak or strong we let it shine.

    My religion is Love.
    God is Love.
