  • I'm a very logical person. Every since I could remember, I didn't believe in serendipity or soul mates. I thought everything happened because people made them happen, none of that magical fairy tale stuff.

I still remember the day I met that boy.

I was 9 and my family and I were driving on the 5 highway in Los Angeles on our way to a restaurant for dinner. The sun was setting and I looked out the window to see a limo right next to our car. My mom gasped,

"Look! On top of the limo!"

Coming out of the sunroof was a boy about my age who was absolutely beaming from the experience and feeling like the king of the world. We looked at each other and I smiled, he then waved and smiled back. It was the most innocent chance encounter, but I think I might have contradicted my beliefs for a second and fell in love a little that day.

I wonder if that boy still remembers the little girl with the bright hair clips waving and smiling from the white car.
