  • Saturday was global fun day.
    the global cardboard challenge.

Inspired by a kid named Caine and his arcade.
    Look it up on YouTube.
    Kid down in East LA,
    dad owns a junk yard,
and the kid builds an arcade out of boxes and tape and
    pure imagination,
    stuff of dreams.

then waits for the world to come along
waits for the world to walk up and buy a fun pass
    500 plays for 2 bucks

And he's sitting there in his chair Saturdays and Sundays
    looking out at the street,

One level, it's about the kid
and his boxes and his dreams.
And hey, if he starts a company
    you'll want to invest.
    The kid has got it.

Another thread is how one guy,
    first and only customer,
    walked in
    and the whole world changed.

started out as another Saturday at school
    but something shifted
and out of cardboard boxes and imagination
a castle and a sense of community emerged.

We can do that you know.
    We do it here everyday.

    That's cowbird
    (to me).

It has put the pen in my hand,
    given me a voice
    and my words wings,
put a element of magic back in everyday moments.

    Put you by my side.
    Put you in my heart.
Hell, made me take out my heart,
    live the stories I write.

    (be ben
    that's what my muse whispers
    close and sacred secret)

    Cause it's hard out there,
    plenty of noise,
plenty of rhetoric and posturing, posing and pimping in the world today.
If each of us doesn't say and be
    then who will?

It isn't so much about us
or our stories and our dreams,
but what we can make of them for each other.
    What others will discover here.
What we uncover in our own hearts.

It's about how with imagination and some raw material,
words and images, cardboard and tape
a castle and a community emerges.
