  • Most chairs are pretty utilitarian, serving that simple purpose of getting you off your feet. Putting you next to someone or something. But some chairs exude personality. You can just feel their energy. They have character and chutzpah. They light up a room. Inspire creativity. They're memorable. They bring a room to life. Beg you to talk about them.

People are the same way. Some go through the motions of life. Eating, sleeping, working. Occasionally playing. Others aren't content to just go through life. They attack it with style and enthusiasm. And inspire those around them. To grow. To push. To make a difference. They, too, bring a room to life.

The difference between chairs and people is that a boring chair doesn't add or subtract too much from a room. It just is. It's inanimate, waiting for us to give it meaning. But a person lacking the lust for life, playing victim or waiting for others to give them meaning can sap a room of it's vitality.

Kind of up to you if you let it though.

It's harder to lose the energy of a room filled with exuberant chairs that draw your attention. Chairs that reflect the character of the person who placed them there. Someone special you want to connect with. Someone not content with any old chair.

If you were a chair, what kind of chair would you be?
