  • Abiquiu abounds with stories and spirits. History lives in Georgia O'Keeffe landscapes that cast vermilion hues on the Old Spanish Trail as it winds across a wide expanse of Anasazi hunting grounds. Beneath rosy dawns, russet sunsets, and glorious soaring of hawks in celestial blue, ancient treasures of Native American artifacts lie in plain sight beside the hiking trail.

Tomorrow, I'm going camping at Abiquiu for a week. I'll miss Cowbird, but I will enjoy this short vacation from the Internet and other Interruptions.

I plan to leave nothing there but footprints and bring home only Abiquiu stories.
