  • When I lived in the south of England we watched too much television. It ruled our lives.

Six years ago me and my husband put up our house to rent and stayed in a spiritual community in Scotland for three years. During that time we both read four books a week, I started painting again and writing poems.

Arriving in Ireland three years ago we decided to continue without a TV.
Life is so peaceful without images intruding into our lives.

We listen to classical music whilst reading, or painting or writing poetry.

I have time to go outside and take in the night sky and smell the changes of seasons. I recognise the birdsong in my new environment and take delight in watching geese and swans soar above us.

We do go to the cinema though.
