  • when you lie beside someone, but you feel like you're on your own
when you are physically within a crowd but mentally you're all alone
when the comfort of your bed just isn't enough
when you refuse to take the sleeping pills
and just pray that the angels lull you to sleep
when you bury yourself inside blankets and pillows
to muffle the cries that disturb the intense silence
when you get frustrated because others are having blissful dreams
while your own thoughts torment you
when you wake up in the dead of the night because your mind does not have peace
when you find yourself contemplating on the notions of right and wrong
and you come to a conclusion that these are concepts both profound and superficial
when you are haunted by the regrets of the past
and gripped by the fear of the future's uncertainties
when you feel like screaming but you end up stifling the emotions
that send you to an ecstasy of love and anger
when you attempt to evaluate every aspect of your life
sometimes efforts are futile and your mind gets tired
but it doesn't matter. you are alive.
i pray for you to find refuge in your solitude
    and rest for your soul.
    just for this thinking night.
    tomorrow is a new day.
