  • "It's just a bottle of sand."
    Is what would be said
By one who takes it in their hand
    When I am long dead.

    So before that happens
and it ends up in the dump,
I think I shall wrap it up
And a gift it shall become,
    Perhaps for a wedding,
    or anniversary.

For the sand in this bottle
    has a special story
    from nearly
    the details memorable to only
    me
    now.

    More important than the story
is what this piece of personal memorabilia represents.

So to my gift I will attach a note:
"Enclosed in this bottle are wishes of:

    New beginnings,
    a growing relationship,
    Passion,
    Excitement
    Spontaneity
    Adventure
    Time alone
and the pure joy of sharing with another, an experience about which no one else on this earth knows..
    And most important--
    unconditional love"

"And once you have mastered those things and have made them part of your life together, sign and date this bottle, and pass it on to another couple who shall do the same
so that it becomes more than sand in a bottle."

    Yep, sounds good to me.
think that is what I'll do.
