  • I have received a statement from my local electricity delivery company, and its congratulates me for reducing my energy consumption. I appreciate the recognition, and I can toss out some of my ideas. These changes are not original, so I bow before the genius that proceeded me.

I am actually taking note of my refrigerator thermostat. I have been moving it down (ie. warmer) slowly. To test the temperature, I am using an age-old, sure-fire method of thermometry called the "lips test". This is the way my mother initially checked to see if we had a fever. ( You know the words, "Oh, you do feel warm! Where's that thermometer?)

In this case, I just place my lips an any available beer can in the refrigerator. If it still feels cold enough, then I slide the dial back another smidgen.

I hope this works for you.
