The Innocence of Muslims – A Review

Directed by – a totally incompetent idiot.
Produced by – a totally ignorant bastard.
Cast – Names have been kept anonymous to protect any chance at a career, which is doubtful.
Plot – There was a plot?
    Photography – See Cast.
Cinematography / Sets – Aunt Jenny's barn combined with scraps of cloth from the local bargain hunter's basement?
    Costumes – See Cinematography.

So, yes, I had to see what all the fuss was about. Being a reviewer and lover of films, how could I ignore something that appears to be having an impact across the world? So this morning, against my better judgment, I Googled the Innocence of Muslims.

My first thought was “OMG.....how could anyone believe this is a serious piece of film making?”. This piece of Odious Fecal Matter (I'm being kind.) is so poorly filmed and acted that I nearly gagged and had to pause to look for some pepto. When I finished the film, I had to take a second gulp of the pink liquid and pray not to upchuck my pancakes and sausage.

But after watching this film, it dawned on me there are a lot of people taking out their anger on the wrong person for the wrong reasons. It is obvious to even the most casual observer this film has been created by a person who has absolutely no concept of Islam, let alone a knowledge of the Koran.

I suggest all the outraged Muslims out there go after the idiot who made the film. I'll even spring for the tar and feathers.

    *******************************

A few decades back, there was a film called “The Last Temptation of Christ” which caused several Baptist ministers and their congregations to flock to the street in protest over this defamation of Christianity. The end result was the film made a load of money. Personally, I think the Baptists were paid to raise a stink. Let's face it, folks, when anyone bans or protests a film or book in this country, we all flock to see it. There is something about that kind of passion that inflames our curiosity. [By the way, this is still one of my favorite films. Dafoe, Keitel, a great plot and exceptional photography. What more can you ask for?]

Muslims around the world, You've been played! Played by an idiot.

By rioting and killing innocent people, you are doing exactly what this hate monger wants you to do. You are showing the other faiths you are an extremist radical organization intent on killing anyone who does not conform to your way of thinking. You, not the filmmaker, are convincing us you are in the same league as Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, and Adolf Hitler. History shows what happened to them. You are also showing the United States you are a threat. Historically, not a good thing to do.

Yes, I realize we have a “peace” president at the moment. When Iran grabbed the US hostages, we also had a “peace” president. In the very next election, we changed up to someone we knew would not tolerate this happy horseshit. Guess what? The hostages were returned very quickly to stave off a full scale invasion of Iran. [And that president is pretty much regarded as an idiot and an embarrassment who should be tried retroactively for treason.]

Some changes have occurred since that happened. There is no more Soviet Union to protect you. And while you may be good customers of the Russians, they're not going to get into a shooting war over a few rubles and a faith they neither support nor embrace. They can always sell to Africa and South America. They might even appreciate one of their competitors in the oil business being taken out.

The world has changed, people. You need to step up and change with it. The civilized people of the world no longer allow religion to dominate their societies. We embrace tolerance and freedom of expression, even when that expression is not what you want to hear. We do not silence any opinion, not even the ones so blatantly stupid as to be offensive. So feel free to yell and protest as much as you like. We're used to it. As a matter of fact, some people have even changed the world by doing exactly that.

Beatings, murders, coercion? That is another matter. One that will not be tolerated. Not here, not anywhere. Especially not here.

You've been duly warned. What happens next is up to you.

    ~Fred~
