  • What a great description.

It reminded me of a day I came home from work.

I opened the front door and stepped in. I closed the door behind me, walked to the kitchen, and wondered ... 'Why am I leaving footprints behind'?

I checked my shoes, they were clean, but there were definitely footprints.

Something wasn't right. Then, I noticed, the washing machine was still running.

    This wasn't normal.

The washing machine had been on for at least 10 hours. Surely it should have finished it's rinse cycle by now.

Wading into the tiled kitchen, the washing machine had not finished it's rinse cycle. It had been rinsing for at least nine hours, water pumping out from the powder tray, non-stop, for hours.

The utility room, kitchen, hall, dining room and lounge, all of downstairs, were all at least 2 inches deep in water.

As I plodded through my sodden home, my feet did the 'suck-walk'
