  • We’re talking about pets and each kid is saying what pets they have at home when a girl sais her brother has a boyfriend, I mean a girlfriend.

    J: I have a hamster in Barcelona!
Me: In Barcelona? Why is your hamster in Barcelona?
    J: Because it’s my brother’s.
Me: Oh! So your brother lives alone in Barcelona?
J: No, with his boyfriend. I mean, his girlfriend.
Me: His boyfriend or his girlfriend?
    J: Mmm…
    Me: Why do you wonder?
    J: It’s just that… he has a boy… you know… a boyfriend even if he’s a boy…
Me: Oh, but that’s ok, why were you thinking so much about it?
    J: Mmm…
Me: It’s ok, J. (Big smile) You know what? One of my best friends has a boyfriend too!
J: So, it’s ok? It’s not something bad?
    Me: Why should it be?
    J: I don’t know… But I love my brother.
Me: Of course you do! Why wouldn’t you?
    J: Mmm… (looks down)
Me: J, do your brother and his boyfriend love each other?
    J: Yes.
    Me: Then… what’s wrong?
L: You see, J? I told you it was ok! There’s nothing wrong! So, when are we going to visit him?

    Very first day of class:

    Me: What’s your name?
    P: I’m P.
    Me: How old are you?
    P: I’m 7. And you?
    Me: I’m 24
P: Oh! So you’re married and have kids, right?
    Me: No.
    P: You don’t have kids?!
    Me: No.
    P: But… you’re married right??
    Me: Hahahha! No!
P: Well then… you have to marry tomorrow or in the weekend.
    Me: Why??
    P: Because you’re 24!!!!
