  • Today, I wore a necklace that I bought at the Ground Zero Museum in February. It is a sculpted branch of the pear tree that miraculously survived the horror and devastation of 9/11/01. It was discovered alive at the base of the towers as the clean up began. It was moved to an Arboretum to heal and returned to the Memorial. It then survived a hurricane's forceful backhand. It gave me strength in February to see it mustering on triumphantly despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles placed in its way. It gave me strength to be in today when too many others could not be due to events beyond their control. I will be forever grateful to those who sacrificed so much for all of us and continue to sacrifice for the greater good. May peace reign~
